PUNO

Puno is located on the banks of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Popularly known as Peru’s folklore capital, this is also the cradle of the Aymara civilization and birthplace of the Inca Empire. From its vantage location, excursions can be made to nearby archaeological sites like Sillustani and traditional Inca villages.
Lake Titicaca is a magical place full of mystery and legends. Its treasures include Sun and Moon Islands, where local legends assure that the Inca Empire was born, Uros Islands, built by the descendants of an ancient tribe using the lake’s reed vegetation, and Taquile Island famous for its hand-made textiles and friendly inhabitants. Puno is located in southeastern Peru, on the border with Bolivia, just one hour by plane from Lima. The area features a rigorous climate with dry and cold temperatures throughout the year.   Hotels in PUNO
